Class Notes March 15: Orders of Business

A few quick things:

Monday, we meet in the Student Union on the 4th floor to catch as much as possible of the "Women and the Iraq War" panel. Enter quietly, and sit wherever you can. I'll try to be there around 10:15 - 10:30 myself.

Revisions of the first essay are due before you give me the final draft of Essay 2. I will also read drafts of Essay 2 at any point except the final 48 hours before it's due on the 27th, later this month. For revisions, I average the grades of your two most recent drafts. You may revise continously until you get the grade you want, but you obviously have to continually refine your thoughts and organization, too. It could be fun. Try it.

We're reading up to page 153 or so in the small paperback of Slaughter-House Five for Wednesday of next week. You also have a short due on that day. For the following weekend, plan on finishing the novel.

I'll hand out a revised syllabus next Wednesday.

I found our discussion today productive. Remind if I miss anything, but remember that we have students checking on the status of: Dresden, Germany during World War II; Vonnegut's biography and its relationship to the novel; and patterns of "so it goes." Anything else? Email me.
